In 2020, we established a small blueberry farm in the meadow next to the Sporthotel. We grow Canadian blueberries in three varieties – Aurora, Liberty, and Duke. The blueberries are hand-picked and are neither chemically sprayed nor fertilized. We place great emphasis on natural ripening and respect for the surrounding landscape.
During the summer and autumn months, you can enjoy our blueberries fresh at breakfast and dinner. Throughout the rest of the year, they can be found in our homemade products. We produce our own blueberry jam, and our blueberry gin – now in its second edition this year – is distilled for us by the South Bohemian distillery Poněšice.
During the summer of 2024, our blueberry farm joined forces with the family-owned Poněšice distillery to create our very first blueberry gin. We wanted the gin to be produced in South Bohemia — and we succeeded!
The gins are naturally colored using the butterfly pea flower. In addition to Canadian blueberries, you can taste notes of orange peel, juniper, and coriander.
You can enjoy our gin in the hotel bar or purchase it as a gift. It is available in small (250 ml) and large (700 ml) bottles.
